Here are some comments from one of the visitors of this website:

Macy’s is wonderful. I’ve purchased many items at many stores. All the staff, both female and male, have been absolutely and genuinely polite.

My most recent purchases were a satin dress blouse from a sale rack, and a beautiful formal gown. We chatted about the election as she rang me up commented on the pretty color of the dress…

I usually shop near the close of business, mostly for privacy, but also to keep me from indecision over purchasing.

JCPenney in Chicago has been pretty good too. A half dozen years ago, I bought a beautiful pink dress, but had to exchange it.

The girl (barely out of high school) even asked if I would like to try it on. Of course, I chickened out, but she was serious, if a little unsure (because of her age). I’ve also had good luck with carsons.

It seems that if you go in without trying to hide what you are doing, you are received better and treated reciprocally.

P.S.:
We owe a debt to these big chain stores--- in training their staff to remove prejudice from their work ethic, the management of these stores is allowing the employees the chance to see that TG people are just like any other person.
